No split, everything's purrfect. Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts slams rumours of break-up.
RELAX, Pussycat Dolls (PCD) fans - the US girl group is here to stay.
Lead singer Nicole Scherzinger is not leaving, and they're definitely still a fivesome.
So insists PCD member Ashley Roberts, quelling rumours of an impending split, when she spoke to The New Paper over the phone from her hotel room in Melbourne.
PCD is currently on its Doll Domination World Tour and the luscious ladies will be strutting their stuff at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 4 Jun.
Rumours of a split and Scherzinger's departure surfaced when the latter announced plans for a solo album two years ago.
But Her Name Is Nicole, as it is tentatively named, has been delayed numerous times.
Recently, tensions arose when singles Hush Hush and Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny) were released as Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger.
Member Melody Thornton, 24, reportedly cracked under the pressure of jealousy stemming from these additional tags, which have since been removed.
She unleashed her claws when the group opened for pop star Britney Spears' Phoenix, US, gig late last month.
A catty Thornton told the crowd: 'Thank you for supporting me even though I'm not featured, you know what I'm saying.
'Don't let anyone stomp on your dreams!'
But Roberts, 28, says the press 'made it more outrageous than what it should have been'.
She said: 'Being Phoenix natives, Melody and I were excited to be home. She was just in her moment and speaking her mind.'
Roberts says she was not involved in the public war of words and did not know if the girls discussed the incident, as she was 'hanging out' with her family and friends after the concert.
As for the tags which caused the bust-up, Roberts claims the Dolls have no control over the final product.
The blonde beauty said: 'I don't understand (the tags) too. The Pussycat Dolls is a big team which includes managers who made the decision.
'We were just as surprised at the outcome.'
But for now, it seems the raunchy quintet - who will be performing in Perth tomorrow - has set aside its differences.
Gaga over Lady Gaga.
Roberts also spoke highly of singer Lady Gaga, who is PCD's supporting act on the Australia, UK and Ireland legs of the tour.
She said: 'She is killing it. She is an amazing artiste and individual. I'm such a huge fan.
'She lives her life as art. I don't think there's been an artiste like her since Michael Jackson and Prince. That's why I think she's important to the industry.'
So have the Dolls, who are known for their sexy outfits, exchanged fashion tips with the more sartorially eccentric Lady Gaga?
Roberts said: 'She wears a different outfit every night. I'm already getting fashion tips just by watching her on stage.'
But don't expect Roberts to go gaga over Singapore's hawker cuisine; she's a 'picky eater'.
She said: 'I'm just going to stick to chicken, vegetables, steak and spaghetti.
'I would never eat eel, like those served in Japanese restaurants. And I don't eat seafood. The texture grosses me out.'
